Recently, a Baldur's Gate 3 player stumbled upon an extraordinary example of the incredible attention to detail that went into the game's dialogue. This discovery pertains to a character known as Minsc and his faithful hamster companion, Boo.
Firstly, a spoiler alert is in order for those who haven't progressed to Act Three of the game and wish to avoid any story spoilers. Minsc becomes available as a companion in Baldur's Gate 3 during Act Three, and due to various gameplay choices or existing party compositions, many players might not have encountered him or decided to include him in their group.
What makes Minsc and Boo stand out is the extensive range of dialogue and voice lines they bring to the game. Remarkably, even the other companions in the game have unique lines in case they decide to emulate Minsc and hurl Boo at an enemy.
In a Reddit post, one player shared some of these character-specific lines, which also come with a touch of humor. For instance, when mimicking Minsc by throwing Boo at an adversary, Lae’zel exclaims, “The mighty Boo strikes.”
However, it's Jaheira who steals the show with her witty and humorous lines, building on her pre-existing partnership with Minsc and Boo from previous Baldur's Gate games. Her lines include gems like, “Land softly, or the ranger will break me in half” and “Eyes, et cetera. You know what to do.”
