Starfield's New Game Plus mode conceals a hidden gem that can significantly ease the challenges of space exploration, yet it often eludes the notice of many players. This feature is just one among a plethora of optional but advantageous buffs waiting to be discovered in Starfield.

Ever since its recent release, Starfield has soared to the heights of sales success. It distinguishes itself in the competitive world of open-world action RPGs by virtue of its captivating sci-fi setting and a strong focus on charting planets and customizing spaceships. Given its genre, players are bestowed with a generous degree of freedom when it comes to navigating the sprawling universe, collecting rare items, and advancing the narrative. This freedom extends to in-game enhancements, some of which are cunningly concealed and can occasionally be obtained out of sequence or overlooked entirely.

For instance, a Reddit user, DontTakeMeSeriousli, shared a screenshot captured within The Lodge, one of Starfield's in-game locations. Despite being at Level 31, they regretfully realized that they had missed an easily attainable buff, which had been available from the beginning of their playthrough. This elusive buff, called the "Constellation Guide 01," is hidden in plain sight on a table in the center of the library. It bestows a 15% reduction in oxygen consumption while moving when over-encumbered, a boon for those with inventories larger than they can comfortably carry. When combined with upgrades to one's inventory size, the value of this early-game upgrade becomes abundantly clear.

Interestingly, although not explicitly mentioned in the post, a reply confirmed that the effects of some Constellation Guides are randomized based on when they are obtained. Furthermore, it was revealed that this particular upgrade is exclusively found in that specific location during a New Game Plus playthrough. In a regular mode playthrough, Guide 01 provides a 5% reduction in fall damage instead. Many of those commenting on the Reddit post expressed astonishment that such a useful upgrade could be so easily overlooked. Several players admitted to having progressed significantly or even completed Starfield without ever noticing the presence of a Constellation Guide in that spot.

Starfield is an undeniably vast game, as evidenced by its substantial file size. Combined with its open-ended nature, it comes as no surprise that even meticulous players, striving for a 100% completion rate, may inadvertently bypass some valuable upgrades that could have proved invaluable on their journey.

Starfield is available for play on PC and Xbox Series X/S, offering gamers an expansive and immersive experience in the depths of space.
