The first anniversary of Overwatch 2 has arrived! Millions of enthusiastic players have answered the call, and we are celebrating this momentous occasion with an array of exciting rewards. Over the course of three weeks, we invite you to indulge in the return of beloved game modes from past events within the Arcade. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to accumulate Overwatch Credits, which can be used to acquire cherished skins in our limited-time Anniversary Shop. Keep reading to uncover all the details of what the Overwatch 2 Anniversary event has in store for you!
Week 1 – Winter Wonderland and Battle for Olympus
In the initial week of this celebration, prepare to embrace the frosty charm of the Winter Wonderland event game modes. Engage in thrilling snowball battles with Mei's Snowball Offense, available in both Elimination and Deathmatch variants. Challenge yourself with the epic 1v5 Yeti Hunt or the demanding Flash Freeze elimination modes.
For those who seek divine challenges, Week 1 reintroduces the Battle for Olympus, featuring both Free-For-All Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch game modes. In Battle for Olympus, eight heroes are enhanced with god-like ultimates, resulting in a frenzied clash that will shake the heavens.
Week 2 – Assault, Catch-A-Mari, and Starwatch: Galactic Rescue
Week 2 ushers in a nostalgic experience as classic Overwatch Assault maps return to the Arcade. These maps require teams to capture or defend two stationary objective points, offering intense and protracted team battles that demand extraordinary coordination and teamwork. Do you have what it takes to conquer both points?
Furthermore, we revive the exhilarating mayhem of Catch-A-Mari, our elimination-confirm style game mode where you collect Pachimari toys dropped by vanquished opponents to earn points for your team and secure victory. And don't forget to embark on a galactic rescue mission in Starwatch: Galactic Rescue. In this mode, a team of Watchers (attackers) strives to liberate 3CH-O, portrayed by Echo, from the clutches of the Infinite Empire (defenders) on a four-objective point map.
Week 3 – Summer Games and Mischief & Magic
In the third and final week of our Anniversary event, it's time to grab your sunscreen and hit the virtual beach with the return of your favorite Summer Games event modes. Revisit classics like Lúcioball and Winston's Beach Volleyball for some sunny gaming fun.
Additionally, we're resurrecting Mischief & Magic, a prop hunt-style game mode where Knight Genji hunts down the mischievous Rogue Kiriko, who transforms and hides as everyday objects.
Earn Credits to Unlock Returning Shop Skins
Throughout the event, you can earn up to 3,000 Overwatch Credits by completing various challenges. Use these credits to purchase premium skins in the Anniversary Credit shop, including favorites like Space Raider Cassidy, Beekeeper Sigma, Hermes Lucio, and more! Furthermore, you can save your credits for future opportunities, as we have exciting new skins planned for upcoming seasons.
