| Mario and Rapides Sparks of Hope (DLC 3: Rayman) in Phantom Show Rezension, .. |
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle 2017 featured some of the best DLC we've seen for a Mario game. In the Donkey Kong Adventure expansion, Donkey Kong and Rabbid Cranky team up with Rabbid Peach to take on tons of overhauled enemies and tons of intense tactical challenges. This suggests that Ubisoft knew a way to create exceptional DLCs. This quality was previously absent in the DLC versions of the Mario + Rabbids sequel Sparks of Hope, while Tower of Dooooom and The Last
Spark Hunter gave us a piece extra of what made Sparks of Hope great, they have been precisely that. : extra of the same.We had excessive hopes for the modern DLC enlargement titled Rayman within the Phantom Show. Not only has it been a long time since we've seen Ubisoft's poster-platformer, it looked set to follow in the footsteps of Donkey Kong Adventure. However, as soon as this pathetic quick tale is cleared up, it mirrors Sparks of Hope's different dull DLC.
Rayman on The Phantom Show begins with Rayman joining the Space Opera Network, an overlooked television studio producing on a galactic scale, via a golden invitation. To his surprise, he meets Rabbids, Rabbid Peach and Rabbid Mario, who may not supply him any trouble.Rather, they too acquired invites and came in conjunction with their robotic buddy Beep-zero to reclaim the galactic star.If you need Rayman to crew up together along with his fellow platformers Mario and Luigi, you are out of luck. Rayman in Phantom Show is a totally separate adventure, because of this that Rayman can't take part withinside the challenge to forestall Cursa and his minions. some post-credit images, Rayman and the Mushroom Kingdom denizens do not genuinely interact, making for a as an alternative disappointing crossover. The loss of Rayman-precise factors contributes to this disappointment. Of course, the Rabbids are initially enemies of Rayman, but Space Opera Network has not anything to do with the historic adventures of our straw-haired hero.Furthermore, the top notch evil of this journey isn't Rayman's rival like Mr.Dark, however the go back of the Specter from Kingdom Battle. While he is a laugh man or woman in his very own right, Rayman's lack of factors made us sense like he deserved better.
However, Rayman plays completely differently from other heroes. Rather than using the titular Sparks in combat, Rayman is equipped with two of his own suits: Whirlpool and Rocket. Switching to one of these combinations changes everything, e.g. B. by giving the basic blaster shots and piston shields the ability to knock enemies off the map or deal area damage. Rayman can also hold on to flying rings, which are the only item Ubisoft is adding to its games. He can also kick blocks and grab distant objects, which is the basis of almost all puzzles in the world. As you'd expect, these puzzles are very similar to the base game: find a shaped key, use the Beep-0 to reveal a hidden bridge, and repeat the process. We quickly got bored. Luckily, Sparks of Hope's loose tactical battles are still a lot of fun. In Phantom, Rayman and his friends visit three different themed locations - cowboy, pirate, and medieval - to solve a puzzle or two before a boss encounter. From team jumping to take out the Flamin' Stooges before they can blast you with fiery shots, to finding a way to take down Darkmess Eyes, the game is still going strong. Of the three sets, the Pirate set features a giant cardboard cutout of the Kraken that serves as an obstacle, the Cowboy scene changes the look of a standard enemy, and the Medieval augments the henchman to serve as a boss.
After completing these three, within a few hours of starting the game, we opened the menu to check our progress and were surprised to find that the adventure was 80% complete. While we still had so many little secrets to discover and puzzles to solve in the Space Opera network, we expected the base game to have more battle sets or a more open area like Pristine Peaks. Instead, all we had to do was defeat the Phantom to complete the game in under four hours.
Sam Phantom sang some funny songs as they parted, wondering why Rayman hadn't played for a while and bemoaning his previous loss to Mario. The last meeting with him is almost the same as in the Kingdom Battle: to break his invulnerability, you need to turn off his beacon, destroying nearby lights first. You have to do it three times with increasing difficulty, but by the end of the first round we got tired of the mechanics.
summary
We haven't seen Rayman on Nintendo Switch for a long time, Rayman in Phantom Show is a disappointment, especially when compared to Kingdom Battle's Donkey Kong Adventure. The lack of Rayman-specific elements, the impossibility of playing Rayman in the base game, and the repetition of old enemies and encounters make this adventure only suitable for those who can't get enough of Sparks' grand tactical battles.
