DICE has released information on the upcoming Battlefield 2042 version 5.3.0 update, which will be released next week alongside the previously announced Battlefield2 Redux content changes. Find out about the upcoming changes taking effect on August 29th.

  Vehicles are an integral part of the chaotic and addictive gameplay you want to experience in Battlefield. Since we finished revamping all All-Out Warfare launch maps, our focus has been on how vehicles interact with these revamped locations.
 
  The server-side change is expected to change the number of vehicles in Conquest mode on all maps in the All-Out Warfare era one week after the 5.3 update. For example, the areas we considered when deciding to improve the number of vehicles on the map were the locations, their fantasy, conflicts and the number of players.
  The first update to vehicle count is for our revamped Conquest War maps. The number of vehicles on the Battlefield Portal maps will be revised in a later update.

   We wanted to take a moment to discuss some of the vehicle changes in this game update.
  We saw that the attack helicopters were not behaving as we would like. Especially when compared to vehicles like the MD540 Nightbird and Stealth Helicopters when it comes to dealing and taking damage. The changes we are making are as follows.
 
  Dealing and absorbing damage
 
  Currently, the gameplay difference between attack helicopters and their lighter variants is not noticeable in terms of armor and health, and they fight similarly against anti-aircraft weapons. To solve this issue, we're reducing the damage inflicted by 30mm guns on Attack Helicopters by Wildcat and Flak weapon explosions by 25%, which will help survivability over their larger light counterparts increase.
 
  We're also changing the way you damage other ground vehicles when using anti-tank missiles. These shells now primarily deal explosive damage to make them more effective as an anti-vehicle option. With this change, it's important to aim for direct hits to ensure full damage.
 
  These changes apply to all aircraft using anti-aircraft missiles.
Gunner Improvements We've also repositioned the front gunner's barrel and camera. With a better and wider view, you can now better understand the helicopter's trajectory as it traverses the battlefield.
 
  We're also increasing the weapon's effectiveness with a number of balance changes and the addition of thermal optics. Thermals come at the expense of magnification, so it's up to you to decide if the pros outweigh the cons.
 
  Turn, turn, turn!
  You will also notice in this update that we have slightly reduced sensitivity of all helicopters. This allows for easier aiming while providing micro-inputs to adjust aiming in chaotic moments.

  We're also improving the handling of ground vehicles. We'll start with the LCAA hovercraft and change the force applied to this vehicle because you told us it was drifting too much.
 
  We've increased the responsiveness of the hovercraft, and you should now feel it accelerate and stop faster than before. It will drift a lot less and we will also add Yaw Acceleration to make turning from a standing start easier.

  We got a lot of criticism on it, so let's talk about anti-aircraft weapons as well.
  In one of our previous updates, we temporarily disabled the anti-aircraft gun for LATV4 and LCAA hovercraft due to a bug that allowed the flak to use the vehicle's explosion value if it exploded within a certain time.
 
  In this update we reactivated the anti-aircraft gun but removed the infantry damage as we felt it was too powerful and the explosion speed increased.
