It's safe to say that developer Nightdive Studios knows quite a bit about the return of the classics - the team just worked on Quake 2 Remastered with Bethesda and several other projects including a System Shock remake. Now it looks like the team has their sights set on another old-school FPS. Stephen Kick, CEO of
, recently tweeted about a possible remaster of The Darkness; an Xbox 360 title originally created by developer Starbreeze. Kick didn't provide any specifics, but said the title is "on the drawing board" at Nightdive Studios.
It remains to be seen what the term "enumerated" really means. Is it the pipes? Is the game only on the developer's wish list? We're not entirely sure at the moment, but hope to hear more information about a possible remaster of The Darkness in the coming months.

We're particularly interested in a project like this given how great their work on Quake 2 Remastered was. Bethesda's latest re-release of Quake 2 is one of the best remasters we've seen to date - it even went so far as to add new content to the 2023 version of the title.
