Tactical sci-fi game Cantata leaves Early Access on August 15th

Published by TinyBuild and developed by Mandragora, I Am Future is a cozy post-apocalyptic survival game coming to Steam Early Access on August 8th.As that date approaches, they've launched a brand new trailer showing all of the features.
After the trailer, I kept putting The Sims in a post-apocalyptic setting, and then the whirlpool came and solidified it. And then I looked and I was like, "Oh no, that doesn't look like The Sims," but I realized that if you take all the other Sims and let them travel in the purge, it looks a lot like the post-apocalyptic The Sims. So in I Am Future you play Chris, probable the most effective human on earth. I don't blame them. Your purpose isn't the handiest to survive, however additionally to locate different survivors and try and get to the bottom of the thriller of the cease of the world. You discover a sunken city, mine constructing substances and installation your base of operations. You may even construct robots that will assist you in all of your endeavors.I Am Future enters Early Access with a "part" of the principle story. The team's goal is to feature new features, regions to explore, and tale content material over time. They say they do not need to preserve it "in Early Access for too lengthy," however do not need to present a extra correct estimate of the way lengthy they expect to last. No different structures were announced.
Modern Wolf has announced that Afterschool's tactical space game Cantata is leaving Early Access for a full release on August 15th. The cantata

is about the impending war between the assassins and the oppressed robot masses. It's set on the planet Shoal, where wild animals don't like to fight for their habitat. The game was introduced to me when Advance Wars met Dune and I saw it. But in addition to turn-based skirmishes, there is also base building and exploration.
Haven't had a chance to try Cantata yet, but it looks fantastic. The quirky neon graphic design is a great core aesthetic, but the gameplay feels loose and tight. It's hard to find a game that can capture the mechanical depth and aesthetic brilliance. Since I didn't pack my dirty gloves, I can't say for sure that it was successful, but all the evidence points to it.
is a devilish mix of skirmish tactics and great strategy. There is also a map editor and a multiplayer mode for those who like to confuse their friends.

Cantata is currently available in Early Access on Steam. On August 15th it will get the full version 1.0.

Recreate a beautiful post-apocalypse in I Am Future

Welcome to Eden
When I think of the post-apocalypse, I usually think of darkness, boredom, and depression. The upcoming farming simulator I Am Future will change that narrative with a sunnier view of the end of the world. Set approximately six months after the event that would end it all, the game is filled with vibrant shades of blue and green as nature reclaims the cityscape in an area called Eden.
. The protagonist of I Am Future is as optimistic as can be, since he seems to care that he's the only man as far as the eye can see. At least he's looking forward to starting the rebuild and I have to admit he's a man who knows what he wants. According to an article by PC Gamer, you can play I Am Future at your own pace — there's no one to answer, and you don't have to struggle to get to the top of the proverbial stack. It's about farming, building and good vibes and honestly I couldn't be more supportive. The
Townscaper city building toy is coming to Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android later this summer from Raw Fury and creator Oskar Stålberg, whose name you might associate with Bad North.
If you missed the first Steam Early Access chat on Townscaper last year, it's still a work in progress for PC - the latest notable update has made glitches and glitches "80% more professional and 120% more fun". There will also be a final PC version in summer 2021.

This isn't a game for those looking for clues or enjoying the detailed guidance of typical town builders, but it's for anyone who enjoys building a quaint island town in a light-hearted sandbox. As Stålberg says, it's "more of a toy than a game". It's great to see a unique passion project like this resonate so well on Steam that it warrants a Nintendo Switch release. I think that shows how pervasive gaming has become in the console space.
  Join the madness of
. After years of touring the self-hosted and Patreon-backed site, the mother of all rogue sims, Dwarf Fortress is coming to Steam and Itch.io in the near future. Part management sim, part thief, Dwarf Fortress has been in development since 2002 and has been continually updated since its release in 2006. To put things in perspective, the game has been in development longer than Steam has existed.

The core game immerses you in a procedurally generated world filled with history and lore, where you can play as an adventurer or as a fortress boss who must survive through trade and warfare against neighboring fortresses. Also, Dwarf Fortress is so detailed in its world and mechanics that comprehensive strategy seems like a breeze.
The currently available version is presented in classic ASCII graphics, which can be overwhelming at first, but the next Steam release will feature a set of tiles for those who don't feel like looking at the characters.
Dwarf Fortress has been free to download from the official website since its launch 13 years ago, and a team of two uses Patreon to support each other's long-term development. However, given the rising cost of personal healthcare and the "uncertainty of the [Patreon] platform," the developers decided to introduce another revenue stream.

The game is still available for free download on the official Bay12 website, but the new Steam version will cost you money (how much is not yet known). The benefit of paying for the Steam version is that you get access to the Steam Workshop feature with player-made mods.
It's not uncommon for such passionate projects to appear on Steam to bring their game to a wider audience and earn some extra money. Black Mesa, the Source Engine remake of the first Half-Life game, came into Steam Early Access four years ago after being available for free download years earlier when they were working on the latest version of Xen. The release date of the Steam and Itch.io versions is not yet known, but if you really want to play Dwarf Fortress right now, you can simply download it from the Bay12 website, and if you're willing to support the development, you Also, you can always donate a few dollars a month to the team on Patreon.

Deep survival game SCUM will finally be available in preview later this month

You will by no means discover an extra depressing hive...
It's been years since I first saw SCUM on Twitter. The developer mentioned how your going for walks growth does not forestall simply due to the fact you forestall, and sluggishness is accounted for. So far the only other game I'd played that used something like this was the beautiful and terrifying Miasmata, and I realized it was sorely lacking in games that attempted to portray realism. SCUM first stuck my eye, after which I puzzled how practical they could be approximately their take at the near-saturated on line warfare royale survival genre. What I discovered turned into just like the grand approach of on-line survival video games in which the Whole lot associated with the frame is considered. There wasn't even a known release window back then, but on August 29th we finally get our chance to play Rickety Cricket Simulator when SCUM launches on Steam Early Access. SCUM, which payments itself as a superpowered open-global survival game, turned into first discovered in advance this year at Devolver Digital's 2d annual E3 press conference. The game's story is that a TV show called SCUM, designed to satisfy the human need for violent entertainment, is about convicted criminals who are dumped on an island and forced to survive fighting the elements and each other. You are one of these criminals and in case you need to continue to exist you need to discover a manner to ruin the opposite sixty three competition which you are located at the island with. This all sounds familiar to you since it's largely modeled after the settings of PUBG, but what makes SCUM stand out from the crowd is how deep you can get into your character and how many ways you can be screwed.

At base level, players will need to keep track of the usual attributes, but for individuals who need to dig a bit deeper, there can be a mechanic known as the BCU Monitor. In the BCU monitor, you could see your character's nutrition and nutrient information, calorie availability, muscle mass, or even the wide variety of your teeth. Yes, if you one way or the other broke your tooth even as eating, you want to discover a manner to grind the nutrients into a paste. Sounds boring, doesn't it?
  looks good to me.
Oh, you poop too. Also, you may be subject to surveillance based on where you poop and what you do with your poop *um*.It's like whilst Mac and Dennis have been chasing Cricket, besides anybody smells the shit, now no longer simply the homeless ex-priest . As always with Early Access games, I'm a little worried about how long the game will last or how quickly the multiplayer base will burn out if Early Access goes awry.
Steam's listing states that the game will be available in Early Access for at least a year, but requests from the community may extend this period. Hopefully Croteam, who produce SCUM, will help newcomers gamepires release the best possible product without succumbing to scope drift. We'll have to wait and see.

SCUM will enter Steam Early Access on August 29th for a starting price of $19.99, with costs expected to increase during the Early Access period.
