The company says it will use Nintendo Accounts to give you a less bumpy ride.
At Nintendo's 83rd Annual General Meeting final week, President and CEO Shuntaro Furukawa stated the corporation hopes to make a smooth transition from the Switch to the next gaming console without warning, citing Nintendo Accounts as key to generational change.
Nintendo has indicated in a special report published in late 2021 that its accounts have historically been an integral part of its future business, for example in the Nintendo Accounts segment.
In response to an investor's question as to whether the company has any, Furukawa pointed to the difficulty of transferring customers from one console to another, noting that the company has historically cut relationships with its had to rebuild customers. Furukawa stated that over 290 million Nintendo bills are cross-platform and may be used with each console video games and cell apps. He concluded his response by saying that as it transitions to the company's yet-to-be-announced Next-gen console, Nintendo will do its quality to make the transition smoother for customers.
Nintendo released a fully translated Q&A (PDF) on June 30th, offering an even clearer look at the Q&A:
Question:
The Wii U came out about six years after the Wii and the Super Famicom about seven years after the Famicom. The Nintendo Switch is already in its seventh year and as far as I know it is in the final stages. So, can you talk to us about specific steps related to moving to a next-gen gaming system?
Answer:
Historically, when it came to moving to a next-gen platform, connecting to consumers was only possible through hardware, so we had to rebuild our relationship with each new platform. But with Nintendo Switch, we are able to join directly with a huge variety of clients thru Nintendo Accounts. Over 290 million Nintendo bills were created via way of means of humans across the world, now no longer most effective via our devoted gaming platform, however additionally via cell apps. With the transition from Nintendo Switch to the next-gen platform, we are able to make accurate use of Nintendo Account to make certain our clients have an easy transition.
The company's annual report, released in Japan on July 5 (PDF), continues the same theme as the previous version from 2022 (PDF):
In addition, we are working to strengthen the connection points and Build Long-Term Relationships Long-term relationship with each of our customers, bound by a Nintendo Account, spanning generations of platforms and bringing together diverse entertainment experiences centered on our integrated hardware and software entertainment experience. Nintendo is notoriously in the back of in terms of integrating new technology like cloud garage and 4K gaming, and its on line bills are especially lagging in the back of. Both Microsoft's and Sony's
Have had persistent, multi-generational debts because the sunrise of time. Nintendo's previous solutions to the transition to consoles have been messy and complicated, as in the case of Wii owners taking steps to port games to Wii U.I need to rest for a while. It's true to peer that Nintendo sees this too.

| Nintendo is addressing the possibility of more GameCube games on the Switch |
The Nintendo GameCube wasn't a huge hit on the market in its day, but over the decades the console has become a fan favorite. The system has hosted many popular games and many of those have come to the Nintendo Switch. During a recent Q&A with investors, CEO Shuntaro Furukawa answered questions about Nintendo Switch Online and its applications built on various legacy systems. After dodging a question about the 3DS app, Furukawa answered Question
about whether the GameCube software can be played on the Switch.
“Among the titles released on the Nintendo GameCube, the HD versions of Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2 (digital version) have also been available on the Nintendo Switch since June 22nd. “We look forward to your inquiry and feedback on this,” he says. Said Furukawa. In recent years, many fans have been hoping for a similar GameCube app to the Switch for NES, SNES, N64, Sega Genesis, Game Boy and Game Boy Advance. While Nintendo doesn't appear to have any plans for anything like this, the company has gotten better at releasing the best games on the system. In addition to the aforementioned Pikmin HD releases that Furukawa mentioned, Nintendo also released Metroid Prime Remastered earlier this year.Meanwhile, Bandai Namco these days launched a remaster of Tales of Symphonia, and the publisher will release the collection of two Baten Kaitos games later in 2023.
Many of the best GameCube games are currently available on Switch or will be available soon, but there are still many great games left in the stalemate. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker has received at least one HD remaster for Wii U, but games like Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and more. Melee and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door have never been offered on Wii U other Nintendo-platform. Apparently Nintendo sees a demand for these games, which will hopefully lead to more remasters and ports for the next
years!
As powerful as PS4, Nintendo Switch 2 destroys the functionality of Xbox and PS5 players
I don't know how anyone else thought Switch 2 would finally be revealed, but I don't think they thought it would be through a comment from an Activision boss. He didn't say what it would look like, but he did reveal one of the most important details: that it will be as powerful as the PlayStation 4. I was hoping for it, but wasn't sure. happen.
I'm sure there will be a lot of weird things coming to the Switch in terms of looks and controls, but knowing this basic fact is incredibly exciting. Considering what Nintendo has managed to do with Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, imagine what they could do with hardware that could make games as beautiful as The Last Of Us Part 2 or Horizon Forbidden West! Not only will
Nintendo games look better, but it will also allow third-party developers to bring all their games to the Switch 2. Not just all that came out in the previous generation, but probably full-generation releases as well. Because let's be honest: apart from a few technical details, they neither look nor sound the same. Nintendo doesn't have much experience with blockbuster consoles and Wii U is the worst sequel to
Wii. You can bet they've learned a lesson from this, but while you shouldn't expect anything from Nintendo, we're at least teaching them a lesson. The configuration presented is therefore a console similar to the Switch, but capable of running almost All the games from the last 10 years, as well as many games from the future. We've already seen how popular a powerful handheld can be with the Steam Deck, but imagine what a more user-friendly and affordable version with the added bonus of Nintendo games on top would look like. It will shatter the current stagnation - as I see it - in the gaming industry and I think Sony and Microsoft have serious regrets about not investing in their hybrid console.
I'm very surprised that once the Switch became a hit, the two didn't start working on their counterparts, as they did when the Wii popularized motion controls. In fact, they tend to copy everything from shoulder buttons to analog sticks, so it gets a bit confusing. Maybe they got burned because they copied the Wii U very quickly by trying to use gaming tablets and it didn't work.
Whatever the reason, their lack of action meant Nintendo had a clear field to play on, and I think they're going to destroy it. The slowdown in their release plans shows that they have plenty of new games in store and can release this thing anytime over the next year without fear of it clashing with other games. Also, they can sell upgrades for any of their current games to run them at 60 fps or whatever (I know it would be better if they were free, but we're talking Nintendo here).
