Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost 2023: New Rewards, Modes, and Gear Revealed
Bungie's Latest Trailer Unveils Exciting Festival of the Lost 2023 Details
Bungie's newly released Destiny 2 trailer provides a glimpse of the thrilling modes, gear, and rewards awaiting players as Festival of the Lost 2023 approaches its kickoff on October 17. This Halloween-inspired event originally made its debut as a limited-time seasonal activity in Destiny back in 2015. It involved players collecting candy from vendors, donning masks representing various NPCs, and obtaining loot from Mystery Bags, Consumables, and premium Eververse store items. Since then, the event has evolved and grown, becoming a significant part of Destiny 2, with expanded content, richer rewards, and engaging activities such as Haunted Lost Sectors.
This year's Festival of the Lost continues the tradition of expanding upon the seasonal event, offering Destiny 2 players even more content and opportunities for rewards. Bungie has introduced several notable changes, including the addition of a Legendary version of Haunted Lost Sectors, providing players with the chance to earn greater rewards by facing greater challenges. Furthermore, the event features the introduction of rare Memento drops and a new resource called Eerie Engrams. These engrams can instantly grant players gear or be focused at Eva Levante's booth to acquire legendary weapons or exotic gear.
Festival of the Lost begins today, coinciding with the Destiny 2 reset, and Bungie has unveiled a new trailer showcasing the seasonal activities and the enticing gear that can be earned. This year's themed armor set, known as "Creepy Crawlies," was chosen by the Destiny community and magically transforms the three classes into various forms of beetles and spiders. Cosmetic items are a significant part of the three-week event, with emotes and new masks, including one inspired by the raid boss Rhulk, prominently featured in the trailer.
The Destiny 2 trailer also spotlights the Legendary Lost Sector activities, where masked players can accumulate candy by defeating enemies and stand a chance to receive more rewards, including Eerie Engrams. Returning from last year is the Mechabre Sniper Rifle, alongside the Jurassic Green Pulse Rifle and Horror Story Auto Rifle. This year introduces a heavy grenade launcher called "Acosmic," featuring a captivating black hole void explosion effect upon detonation.
Exotic gear is a major highlight for players in this year's Festival of the Lost in Destiny 2. The Eerie Engrams have gained more significance, thanks to their newfound ability to be focused into exotic armor pieces ranging from the early years of Destiny 2 to the Witch Queen expansion. Additionally, Bungie has made it possible for players to focus these engrams into exotic gear that they haven't collected yet, offering a streamlined way to obtain the latest exotic armor without the need to grind Legendary or Master Lost Sectors.
Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, ensuring a wide range of players can participate in the Festival of the Lost 2023 festivities.
