The IBC2023 event kicked off with exciting announcements from various companies, including Hedge, Marshall Electronics, INFiLED, Dejero, LYNX Technik, TVU Networks, Genelec, VIVE Mars CamTrack, and Magewell.

Hedge (Booth 7.A32) has introduced its innovative Mimiq Pro Workspaces integrated with Quantum StorNext. Mimiq has long been the preferred solution for editors and post-production facilities seeking to break free from costly proprietary storage for Avid Media Composer. With the introduction of Workspaces at a previous NAB event, users gained the ability to mount folders on block-based storage, facilitating seamless integration with Avid Media Composer.

Hedge CEO, Paul Matthijs, shared his excitement, stating, “Editors and post-production facilities can now effortlessly integrate Avid Media Composer projects into their shared storage environments powered by Quantum StorNext. Mimiq Pro Workspaces simplifies the setup of shared folders and mounts for Avid Media Composer, enabling smooth coexistence with other NLEs on their existing infrastructure. This empowers teams to migrate older projects from outdated storage, archive and retrieve completed projects within StorNext, and significantly streamline their operations. What was once considered impossible is now a reality."

Mimiq Pro is available for purchase, with licenses starting at $499.

Marshall Electronics (Booth 2.A47) is set to showcase its groundbreaking CV420Ne, a compact 4K60 camera featuring NDI technology, making its European debut. This NDI|HX3 version of the ultra-wide 100-degree angle-of-view streaming POV camera boasts a remarkable 9.5 Megapixel 4K sensor and offers digital pan, tilt, and zoom capabilities with over 250 presets at HD resolutions within the expansive 4K sensor space. space. It offers multiple connectivity options, including NDI, HDMI, and USB outputs.

Over in the virtual production realm, INFiLED (Booth 2.B43) is unveiling its innovative Infinite Colors technology for LED Displays. Traditional LED video displays primarily utilize three emitters: Red, Green, and Blue. INFiLED introduces a fourth emitter in a custom LED package, significantly enhancing the color spectrum as perceived by professional cameras when used in LED video ceilings. Infinite Colors revolutionizes various LED applications, enabling extensive variations in tone, saturation, and color appearance in both white light and custom colors, all within a single display.

The debut of Infinite Colors technology can be experienced in the INFiLED Studio AR Series, presented during the event. This implementation marks the beginning of a broader range of high-performance light and color spectrum solutions tailored specifically for virtual productions.

Dejero (Booth 2.B51) is set to introduce its latest EnGo mobile video transmitter at the event. The EnGo 3s inherits the powerful features of the EnGo 3, including native 5G modems and built-in GateWay Mode for wireless internet broadband connectivity. Additionally, it offers 12G-SDI and HDMI connectors, enabling users to handle high frame rate and live 4K/UHD signals over a single cable, thanks to the superior bandwidth of 12G-SDI.

LYNX Technik (Booth 10.A10) brings several new products to the table, including a 4K HDMI to 12G SDI Converter, ideal for professional video and media applications requiring real-time conversion of HDMI 2.0 signals to 12G SDI without signal quality loss. The company also introduces the CQS 1462, a bi-directional single-link/quad-link converter designed to bridge the gap between single-link 12G SDI and quad 3G SDI signals. Both products are valuable for applications involving legacy quad 3G 4K transport systems.

LYNX Technik also presents two new AES and Analog audio embedders/de-embedders that support SDI formats up to 12G. The PDM 1484 B and PDM 1484 D offer multi-purpose functionality, supporting both embedding and de-embedding functions simultaneously. Users can easily access and assign four audio groups (16 channels) using a rotatory switch on the unit or via LynxCentraal or yelloGUI software. Cascading or racking modules together allows for additional audio groups to be included in or extracted from the video stream.

TVU Networks (Booth 5.C82) embraces 4K production within its end-to-end TVU Cloud Ecosystem for live video production. This expanded support for native 4K includes collaboration, playout, distribution, AI-based recording, indexing, and search functionalities. The move underscores the growing demand for live 4K production in various industries, such as sports, entertainment, corporate, and major events. TVU Networks CEO, Paul Shen, emphasizes the importance of cost-effectiveness and flexibility in deploying 4K production solutions.

Genelec (Booth 8.A61) introduces the 9320A Reference Controller as part of its brand new UNIO Audio Monitoring Service Platform at IBC. UNIO seamlessly integrates Genelec Smart Active Monitors, GLM 5.0 calibration software, and Aural ID 2.0 technology. The 9320A offers flexible connectivity, a reference-grade headphone output, and tactile hardware control for Smart Active Monitors, GLM, and Aural ID. It serves as a compact, fully-featured hub for both static and mobile professional audio monitoring applications.

In the realm of virtual production, VIVE Mars CamTrack (Booth 7.D10) takes center stage, showcasing Aximmetry's Virtual Studio with three different demos, including Mars FIZTrack, a newly announced lens encoder making its European debut. The demonstrations include an LED wall-based demo with INFiLED and a Brompton Technology processor, a greenscreen demo with Green Pro Cyc, and an all-new Augmented Reality demo utilizing VIVE Mars FIZTrack.

Finally, Magewell (Booth 7.A44) unveils the Director Mini, the industry's first self-contained, full-featured production solution. Combining multi-input switching, graphics, streaming, recording, and monitoring in a compact device, the Director Mini empowers a single operator to effortlessly create visually captivating productions for live event coverage, remote production feeds, and more. CEO and CTO of Magewell, Nick Ma, highlights the device's versatility, supporting HDMI and USB AV sources, NDI HX, SRT, and RTMP streams, enabling users to incorporate a wide range of inputs into their productions.
