Does anyone else say this sentence? Regardless, I'll keep it. Holy. Cow. Using an iPad as a second Switch screen is a whole different matter. Heck, it's so impressive I don't need to get my hands on the Nintendo Switch 2 Gloves anymore... or whatever the company's next console will be called.

 

  That's not to say that adapting the iPad Pro (2021) as a display for my Nintendo Switch OLED console was an easy process. It took some trial and error, but in the end the experience was worth it.

 

  Too bad you have to see how the best Switch games can look on one of the best iPads. My iPad Pro has a 12.9-inch mini-LED display (2732 x 2048 screen resolution), and with 2596 full-size local dimming zones, the black levels are almost as convincing as those of the excellent paneled OLED switches.

  To state the obvious, you absolutely must own a Switch and its portable hybrid dock. This is because an HDMI cable is required for video streaming to work properly, which means the Switch must be in docked mode.

  True success lies in purchasing the right equipment that enables the entire process. I made the mistake of purchasing the wrong hardware and it took me three tries to purchase an essential accessory that allowed me to play my favorite Switch games on my iPad screen.

 

  The main accessory mentioned is the USB-C to HDMI video capture card. If you are in the US, this Guermok video capture card is $19 on Amazon and it certainly works.

 

  For UK readers, I recommend the model I've had success with. The UGREEN video capture card is available from the Amazon UK store for £17, which is a small saving from the usual £20 suggested retail price. However, if you buy this model you'll also need a USB-C to USB adapter - don't worry, they're cheap.

 

  Before I found this little device, I made the mistake of buying not one but two USB-C to HDMI adapters, neither of which gave me a video signal in Capture Pro: UVC Viewer.

Although they appearance nearly equal to the seize card I found, they can't switch video among my iPad and my Switch.So in case you need to apply your iPad as a Switch display, be very cautious and order the proper hardware.

  After I had the right equipment for this experiment, I started running.When you play Switch video games on an iPad screen, enjoy the pleasure of a picturegraph end on the Kentucky Derby.Most of the time the enjoy turned into downright joyful.When you play Switch video games on iPad, you get all of the blessings of docked video games in your console, best on a larger screen.
