Riot Games consistently delights its League of Legends player community with remarkable skins, and the latest addition is no exception. On September 12th, the gaming giant unveiled a new skin line known as “La Ilusión,” inspired by the vibrant Mexican tradition of “Día de los Muertos” or the “Day of the Dead.” Here, we provide you with all the essential details about the La Ilusion skin collection in League of Legends.
Riot Games, known for its continuous skin releases, has rolled out League of Legends Patch 13.18 on September 13th, introducing the eye-catching Street Demon skins. However, before players could fully absorb this exciting addition, Riot has already teased another colorful collection set to arrive soon.
This upcoming collection, named "La Ilusión," is scheduled to make its debut in League of Legends with the next patch, marking its presence as part of the Halloween-themed skins in the game.
Here's what we currently know about the La Ilusion skins, including their inspiration, featured champions, expected pricing, and release date in League of Legends.
La Ilusion Skins: All You Need to Know
Riot Games introduced the new La Ilusión skins via Twitter, accompanied by the message: “Even in Death, these spirits continue the cycle of Life.” This tweet featured the customary preview of the skins and their recall animations.
Departing from the usual spooky Halloween skin theme, Riot Games has opted for a unique celebration of the “dead” this time. The La Ilusión skin line draws its inspiration from the Mexican tradition of Día de los Muertos, or the “Day of the Dead.” During this commemoration, families unite to honor their ancestors, embracing death as an inevitable part of life rather than fearing it. A prevalent motif during this celebration includes colorful skulls and marigold flowers.
The La Ilusión skin collection features a total of six champions, with one of them receiving a prestigious skin from Riot Games. The champions are as follows:
1-La Illusion Ziggs
2-The Illusion Qiyana
3-The Illusion Drive
4-La Ilusion Nidalee
5-La Ilusion Gnar
6-La Ilusion Renata Glasc
7-La Ilusión Renata Glasc Prestige Edition
However, the community quickly noticed the absence of Milio from this thematic lineup, highlighting how seamlessly he could have integrated into the collection.
Regarding the skin prices, players can anticipate each of them to be priced around 1350 RP, except for the Renata Glasc Prestige skin, which will be available for 125 ME in the Mythic Shop.
When Will the Illusion Skins Be Released in League of Legends?
Presently, all these new skins are accessible for testing on the League of Legends Public Beta Environment (PBE) server. Players are encouraged to hop onto this testing server and share their feedback on the PBE subreddit before the official release on September 27th, coinciding with LoL Patch 13.19.
There is also speculation about a potential in-game event featuring the La Ilusión skins, although this remains unconfirmed. Players hold high hopes because these skins are scheduled to launch alongside LoL Patch 13.19, the same patch in which Worlds 2023 will be played. Thus, it is highly likely that these skins may be tied to the initial phase of a Worlds event.
As the new patch testing cycle is already in progress, players can anticipate official information from Riot Games in the weeks ahead.
