The returning raid, Crota's End, officially launches in Destiny 2 today. Season of the Witch only kicked off last week, but today, September 1, the raid returns for Destiny's first expansion, The Dark Below. It's live now.
,
Crota, the Prince of the Swarm who killed hundreds of Guardians in the devastating battle on the moon known as the “Great Cataclysm,” is resurrected in the original Destiny timeline, prompting the Vanguard to launch a new operation allowing to stop him once and for all. Repeating raids are times when Destiny 2 players can return, and with this raid, the Guardians return to this crucial battle.
Once again it will be a one-off team race to the finish line of bragging rights, glory and an awesome wrestling belt. We've rounded up all the details of this throwback raid below, including start times, power requirements, and competitive mode details.

  Crota's End

Competition Mode is enabled for the first 48 hours. Please prevent transferring the mouse. This is the first step to entering this raid's challenge mode. This also allows teams to begin work on a special Perfect Sword Triumph that includes challenges for each encounter. To complete the Perfect Swordfight triumph, a team must complete a select list of challenges in Challenge Mode.

The first team to complete each Crota's End match and loot the final chest will be Declared World First and their victory might be immortalized with the Crota's End World First Raid Belts.

  Competitive mode changes

Bungie says they've also made the following changes to the Competitive Mode to keep the challenges high when completing the launch event:
,
Increased player vs fighter damage limit. Note that the damage cap received hasn't changed.
  Some enemies gain elemental shields.
All enemies will be more aggressive than in the previous competitive mode.
Bungie added that Crota's End enemies will be much stronger as they have more shields, health and aggressiveness in encounters. Required Power Level

You must have a Power Level of 1790 to reach the max level in Competitive Mode for the raid. If you've been playing Destiny 2 regularly since Lightfall, you've probably already met or even exceeded that requirement, since Bungie hasn't increased the power cap in two seasons.

  Twitch Loot

Destiny 2 players can earn the new Every End emblem via Twitch Drops by watching the Rivals Twitch channel for two hours or by watching any of the participating streamers listed on this page.

Elements Disabled in Competitive Mode

As is often the case, many elements in Competitive Mode are disabled due to an exploit or a bug as the race for world premiere continues. You cannot use their traits or bonuses in raids, and your power level may be affected if you equip them:

Tessellation Exotic Fusion Rifle Aspect Warlock Weavewalk (currently disabled in all Raids and PvP activities)
  Titanium Banner War Aspect
  Exotic Footracer -Hunter Helm
  Elemental Armament mod
   Hand Cannon Overload Mod
   Exotic disease
  Exotic Secant Filaments
  Armor Finish Activation Mod

The following items will also be disabled during gameplay (not only in raid) in the first world race:

  Frenzied Stacks Artifact Mod
  All Ammo Stock Mods
  All Armor Character Loading Mods
Ammo Stocks, especially disabling ammo stocks, can have a big impact as they put more pressure on players when DPSing against bosses due to more limited restrictions. Availability of ammunition. Crota's End

  Exotic weapons and rewards

Bungie has shown that the conventional Necrochasm car rifle will go back on this repeat attack. Players can obtain the Bottomless Abyss quest from the Raid Vendor during the 48-hour period of the Crota's End Competitive Mode. The quest could be automatically marked as whole and all rewards could be located of their stock at once upon a hit crowning glory of the raid. Players who obtain the Bottomless Abyss mission after the 48-hour window in Competitive Mode must complete the mission
from the start to receive the rewards for that mission. The
,
Rewards consist of Abyssal Scale, Eidon's masterful ally, and Necrochasm, even as the Oversoul Key Essence may be earned through finishing Raids and Triumphs. Once players have obtained this rare material, the Bottomless Abyss mission will be complete and they can start working towards earning the Weapon Catalyst achievement for Necrochasm. In Destiny, Necrochasm's signature cappotential is Cursebringer, which causes a Cursed Thrall-like explosion on kills with this weapon. When this weapon returns in Destiny 2 it will likely be thrilling to peer the way it adapts to the game.
