PvP Analysis for Oblivion Wing Yveltal and Geomancy Xerneas
Finally, thanks to their signature moves, Xerneas and Yveltal are accessible to everyone! How much do they improve with Geomancy and Oblivion Wing? Let's take a look at our results summary for a quick overview, and then let's get to the bottom of it!

Yveltal and Xerneas: Stats and Movements
While that's good information, let's just make some quick comparisons with other things that might be more familiar.

Yveltal has roughly the same stats, total attack, and mass product as another dark-type Tiranitar (in Master League), and is even closer to Palkia and Melmetal, falling slightly behind Zacian and Rhyperior, but has more mass than other Dragonites, Metagross. and many other popular Master League picks. He represents the most powerful dark in the Champions League behind Zarude and meets Tyranitar. What makes Yvette and Tatar even more different is choice, as Tyranitar
(weak on seven picks, most of which are popular Champions League picks, including his famous dual weakness in combat) exploits a much easier combo against Yveltal's Dark/Flying can (weak only against Fairy, Ice, Rock and Electric, the latter two being quite rare in Master League). It's still not fantastic, but given the equation's imperfections, I think it's fair to say that only Zarude outperforms Yveltal in terms of dark-type mass in the Master
league. And yes, Xerneas has the precise identical stats. And that puts him with the highest CP and stat product of any (non-mega)faerie in the game, barring Zacian (and Xernie has slightly more mass), which can never be surpassed except for something that happens again, except maybe Eternal Flower Floette (so somewhere in the 30s 😏). From the stats alone, she has the makings of a VERY fairy godmother for the Champions League (and possibly elsewhere!).

Sure, it's all about movement and that's the main reason we're here today. Let's start with Yveltal.

INPUT AND EXIT YVELTAL

FAST MOVE
Snarl - Dark Type, 1.67 DPT, 4.33 EPT, 1.5 CoolDown
Sucker Punch - Dark Type, 2.5 DPT, 3e5 EPT, 1.0 CD
Just - flying guy, 4.0 DPT, 3.0 EPT, 2.0 CD

So there's a case for Gust, but not as much in the Master League. There just aren't many things that are weak against her, and despite the high damage she can dish out, Yvette is much better at attacking early and often.

Snarl is usually the route to this location. Because look at these moves! 10% chance: Reduced Opponent's Defense (
Hurricane - flying type, 110 damage, 65 energy)
Focus Blast - fighting type, 150 damage, 75 energy (
Hyper Beam - normal type, 150 damage, 80 energy)
Yveltal was already pretty good at it Master League with no movement adjustments, usually works with Snarl/Dark Pulse/Focus Blast. Darkness and Combat provide excellent cover, with only the fairies able to withstand both. , and even Melmetal. Focus Blast then helps overcome several weaknesses in battle, including Ursaluna, Snorlax, Zarude, Excadrill, and even Dialga.

Despite everything, Yvette is still a bit weaker than one would like, losing not only to all fairies however additionally to maximum dragons, in addition to massive names like Gyarados, Kyogre, Ho-Oh, Landorus, Palkia and others Mamoswine, of course.

The problem with Wing of Oblivion is that while it has a different range and does slightly more damage to neutral targets than Dark Pulse for the same cost, it is a bit difficult to reach. Without Pulse, you lose a lot of Ghost Pressure, and Psychic-types in particular do a lot worse in sudden wins against Metagross and Mewtwo, and right now you're losing to Lugia. The upside is that you go for a mirrored fit and get more versatility overall. But being nice to Oblivion Wing/Dark Pulse has other issues as well, because a big Focus Blast is key to a chance to defeat Ursaluna, Excadrilla, Dialga, and more, and it's not cool to lose them.

Likewise, with shields down or shields 2v2, not only is it not an upgrade from Dark Pulse, it's even a slight step backwards in both cases if Oblivion's Wing defeats Garchomp in 0S and Mirror in 2S, but this Dark Pulse instead defeats Altered Giratina in Shielding 0v0 and Excadrill in Shielding 2v2... and also Lugia in both.
While Oblivion Wing is a higher flow on paper, it does not suggest plenty within the Master League. We've got a spooky side effect here, folks! This is as a minimum partially because of the rarity of low-harm steals on the Masters League level. Will we be greater a hit withinside the decrease league? Why yes... yes, I suppose so!

In the Ultra League, Oblivion is generally a more obvious upgrade with plenty of appropriate herbs, bugs, and/or warriors to choose from. Unsurprisingly, Pulse continues to shine in Cresselia, but Oblivion Wing returns with its only victories over Toxicroak, Buzzwolenie, Golisopod, Venusaur, and Virizion while fending off ghosts (and everything else) it was previously able to defeat with Dark Pulse. It works MUCH higher and extra reliably than the Fly/Dark mixture you may have formerly carried out with
: Blast/Dark Pulse.

ENTER AND EXIT XERNEAS

ᴱ - Signature Move (Special Event)

  FAST MOVE
Geomancy - Fairy Type, 1.33 DPT, 4.33 TPE, 1.5 Cooldown
Attack - Normal Type, 3.0 DPT, 3.0 EPT, 0.5 CD
Zen Headbutt - Psychic Guy, 2.67 TPD, 2.0 EPT, 1.5 CD
Listen, don't run Zen Headbutt, okay? That's all I have to say about it.

Until now, Xernie had relied on good old tackle. It's boring, never particularly effective, but it was enough to help Xerneas achieve a respectable Champions League record with staggering strength and bulk.

But now we finally have a move with STAB, and it's a great move, even if it doesn't reach the overall "average" of 6.0 (combined damage per move and energy per move). is the same, but geomancy deals about 0.33 damage.) Of course, this puts a lot of strain on cargo movements... How nice that Xernie has something good in this quest area! . 110 Damage, 60 Energy, 10% Chance: Reduce Opponent's Attack.
Giga Impact - Normal type, 150 damage, 80 energy,
action boost, run as Pauper's Zacian, using melee and moon blast for good full cover, destroys most dragons (including). Dialga) and Darks and Warriors AND stuff like Mamoswine, Snorlax and the aforementioned Dialga with battle reports, with more fairies adding Togekiss, Sylveon and yes Zacian as bonuses. It helps that
Xerna resists Zacian's fast movements AND melee attacks while Zacian constantly takes neutral action damage.

What if I told you that geomancy makes Xerneas better? And not just a little, but much better?
The improvements Xernie is seeing in Geomancy - finally giving it the fast fairy movement players have been asking for since it was first released over two years ago - are priceless. SEVEN new victories become possible. Some, like Yveltal (plus Oblivion Wing), Garchomp, and 2 Giratinas (plus Rayquaza's Dragon Ascension defeating Xerneas Tackle), are pretty obvious. Others like Lugia are a lot less obvious but make sense since Attack only generates 3.0
energy per turn, but Geomancy comes into play at level 4.33 EPT, allowing Xerni's large attacks to deal critical damage. Others are big surprises though, like Melmetal and Excadrill, again with increased geomantic energy for more melee combat that Stale hates. This allows him to defeat Diagl in ALL equal shield scenarios. And if you don't have to go the auto-nerf route, you can stick with the daily Lunar Blast and still win 1v1 with shields and shields down, that's pretty awesome! This is also the
th, which Xerneas previously couldn't do as he couldn't handle many Lunar Blast shield scenarios on his own, forcing the melee auto nerf to maintain a commercial advantage. Xerne Geomancy wins hands down. And if you couldn't defeat these Sims, try to distinguish between a bad move and a wonderfully lucky geomancy in 2v2 shields! However, unlike Yveltal, Xerneas wouldn't have much of a place in the Ultra League, geomancy or not. And no, a good power swap would not improve the situation either. Yvette I'd be tempted to keep him under 2500 CP, but Xernie? Xernie will do anything, folks. Now this is going to be a big deal for Masters League fanatics.
