Deck building has arrived in Destiny 2. Here's how to find major and minor arcana cards.
Destiny 2 introduces Whisper Deck, Bungie's approach to deck building. Arcana cards major and minor were introduced in Season of the Witches and can now be found throughout the solar system. This mechanic allows you to further customize your gear for specific activities. However, in classic Destiny fashion, there are a few things to consider.
As you go through the new seasonal activities, you're bound to come across these cards. While the game briefly explains how the mechanics work in general, it can be difficult to understand. If you're wondering how Fate of Whispers works in Destiny 2 and how to get Major and Minor Arcana, you've come to the right place.
How the Whisper Deck works in Destiny 2
Season of the Witches in Destiny 2 introduces new activities and item types to pursue. The biggest innovation, however, is the Whisper Deck. Once you gain access to the Office of Divination by completing the Work and Trouble phase of the quests, you'll start earning opaque cards.
Essentially, opaque cards are cards that have not been revealed, so to speak. Whenever you get it, the first thing you have to do is return to the Divination Desk via HELM, open the Whisper deck and interact with the card. The game will tell you if it is a major or minor arcana card.
How Deck Whispers works in Destiny 2. In order to turn boring cards into Major Arcana cards, you must first complete the relevant quest. The goal is usually to collect a certain amount of knowledge, but there may be an additional mission to complete. After you've done that, interact with the card in the whisper deck again, and you're good to go.
After acquiring at least five Major Arcana cards, you can create a Deck. From the five Major Arcana cards in your deck, one is chosen at random before each encounter in Savathun Spire and Altars of Summoning. Of course, the more Major Arcana cards you have, the more options you have for your deck. As far as perks go, Major Arcana cards offer myriad bonuses, including the ability to drop heavy ammo and regenerate health and shields to quickly take down enemies, as well as finishing blows that sometimes drop special ammo. on the other hand,
,
Minor Arcana cards are usually unique perks, items, or boosts. For example, the Worm II minor arcana creates the witch's weapon you focus on at the Resonant Deep Sight ritual table for the next season, if possible with the chosen weapon.
How to find major and minor arcana cards in Destiny 2
Because the obscure card's main loot doesn't really reveal what you'll get until you check it on your Divination Dashboard, it can be difficult to tell if it's a major or minor arcana card.
In my experience, Major Arcana cards tend to disappear from seasonal quests. The first week of Witching Season is Trouble and Trouble; and "The Path of Blades". Joshua Billeudeau, Destiny 2 lead designer, seems to confirm this theory. In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Billeaudeau explains, "As the season progresses, Wardens will be able to find more Major Arcana cards and use them to build a deck (by choosing which cards to bring with them in seasonal activities),
allowing players can build. Boats around their class, equipment and crew. The Minor Arcana cards can be found as loot for completing the Season of the Witch activity. This includes waves of Altar Summoning Rituals. By completing bounties and weekly challenges, you're sure to earn more boring maps. Be sure to visit the HELM Ritual Table website regularly, as prestige rewards to increase your reputation also result in boring cards as rewards.
Opaque cards can be major or minor arcana, but hey, it's fun to collect them all, no matter how long it takes to see the full collection.
