Is there a more highly anticipated video game than Grand Theft Auto 6? Enthusiastic fans are eagerly awaiting any sign from developer Rockstar, and some are even deciphering clues from unexpected sources, like the moon.

GTA has always been a hotbed for wild fan theories, but the latest one takes the cake for its imaginative reach. It all centers around a moon depicted in a promotional image for the GTA Online Moon Festival event. In this image, two characters stand in front of the iconic Vinewood sign, obscuring most of the letters, leaving only 'V' and 'I' visible. Of course, 'VI' stands for six in Roman numerals, and this is where the theory starts to make a semblance of sense.

From there, it delves into the depths of speculation. A keen-eyed Twitter user, @Dirty_Worka, closely examined the moon in the picture and declared it as evidence of an impending game reveal. According to this theory, the moon in the image is in the Waning Gibbous phase, characterized by the lit-up part of the moon shrinking from 99.9% to 50.1%. Interestingly, the real moon entered the Waning Gibbous phase on October 2. Coincidence?

Taking it a step further, a Reddit user named ApprehensiveTop8927 boldly predicts that GTA 6 will be revealed on October 3, citing the moon as their source. Their argument hinges on Rockstar's historical pattern of announcing and releasing games on Tuesdays, particularly in October. It's certainly a bit eerie!

But what if, against all odds, this theory turns out to be true? That's the question lurking beneath the mockery this theory has received. GTA fans are ravenous for any hint about GTA 6, and they are dissecting every Rockstar release with fervor. Even seemingly innocuous tweets from Rockstar, like one promoting the Alpine Hat for GTA Online on October 2, are not spared from scrutiny.

In the end, Rockstar will announce GTA 6 when they are ready, and with a potential release date set for 2024, the official teaser may not be too far off. Until then, perhaps it's a good time for GTA fans to take a break from the screen and patiently await the real unveiling.
