Pokemon Go's Latest Halloween Update: Unique Costumes Stir the Community
Pokemon Go enthusiasts are in for a spooktacular treat this Halloween, as Niantic's latest update brings a host of unique costumes that have left the community divided. While Pikachu dons a Tricks & Treats outfit, Vulpix showcases a Spooky Festival look, and Piplup gets into the spirit with a Halloween Mischief costume, it's not just the Pokemon that are dressing up this year.
In a delightful twist, trainers can also join in on the Halloween fun by donning special avatar items and stickers, available for purchase during and even after the event. However, some of the new in-store items have left the Pokemon Go community scratching their heads.
One trainer took to Reddit to share an image of the new style options, captioning it with a bewildered: "I'm sorry, but wtf is this?"
The image in question featured a trainer trying out the brand-new Yamask Mask, available for 200 coins. But what truly caught the community's attention was the outlandish Cofagrigus Costume that's now available.
Reactions to these new additions were mixed, to say the least. Some players humorously labeled the costume as "Nightmare fuel," while others were absolutely smitten, declaring it "Perfection" or exclaiming, "That's the best thing I've seen all day. That's what that is."
The Halloween-inspired outfit combines a golden Yamask Mask with a Cofagrigus full-body costume that shimmers in gold, complete with an extra pair of Cofagrigus' shadowy limbs stemming from the back.
Currently, five unique style options are available in Pokemon Go:
1. Yamask Mask: 200 Coins
2. Cofagrigus Costume: 400 Coins
3. Cofagrigus Head: 200 Coins
4. Phantump Head: 200 Coins
5. Greavard Wig: 200 Coins
But this year's Halloween event is not just about costumes. Trainers can look forward to a plethora of activities, including the debut of Shiny Zorua, enhanced Candy rewards, specialized Timed Research, and exclusive in-game shop bundles.
In a special collaboration with Amazon Prime Gaming, trainers can score unique avatar items and more. The event promises unique bonuses, raid updates, and fresh Pokestop showcases.
This Halloween, there's truly something for everyone, no matter your thoughts on the latest costumes to hit the store.
