A potential upcoming Nintendo Direct event has fueled speculation about the return of a beloved Nintendo classic series. Twitter user Pyoro, known for accurate Nintendo leaks, has dropped hints that fans of a certain MATLAB function might have something to look forward to in the upcoming Direct.

Pyoro's cryptic tweet on Friday stated, "Let's just say fans of a certain MATLAB function will be happy with the upcoming Direct." For context, MATLAB is a widely-used programming and numeric computing platform employed by engineers and scientists for data analysis, algorithm development, and modeling.

Resetera community members are now buzzing with speculation, connecting Pyoro's tweet to MATLAB's 'fzero' function.

While Nintendo has yet to officially announce an upcoming presentation, it's worth noting that the company traditionally hosts a Direct live stream in September. As a result, anticipation is growing for an imminent confirmation.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting news of a new installment in the F-Zero series, which has been dormant since the release of F-Zero Climax for the Game Boy Advance 19 years ago.

In 2021, Takaya Imamura, a long-time Nintendo veteran and the artist responsible for designing F-Zero's characters and vehicles, expressed his belief that the series was not dead but challenging to revive. In a recent interview with VGC, Imamura, who departed Nintendo in 2021, suggested the possibility of outsourcing a new F-Zero title to a third-party developer, highlighting the success of Donkey Kong Country as an example.

Toshihiro Nagoshi, creator of the Yakuza series and producer of F-Zero GX, also indicated his openness to returning to the Nintendo franchise if the opportunity arose, providing fans with a glimmer of hope for the beloved high-speed racing series.
