In a grand event held in Barcelona, Huawei introduced its latest range of cutting-edge smart wearables and tech offerings. The lineup includes the Watch GT4 series, Freebuds Pro 3 wireless earbuds, Eyewear 2 smart glasses, and a new iteration of the MatePad tablet, the 11.5-inch PaperMatte Edition, with a particular emphasis on eye care.
Huawei MatePad 11.5-inch PaperMatte Edition
Among the highlights was the announcement of the MatePad 11.5 featuring an innovative PaperMatte screen. This screen boasts a nano-etched coating that promises a tactile experience akin to writing on paper. It significantly reduces glare, alleviates eye strain, and enhances the natural feel when using the second-generation M-Pencil stylus.
The tablet retains its impressive 11.5-inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 1440 x 2200 pixels and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by a custom 4G Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, complemented by 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The device also sports a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. A 7,700mAh battery with 22.5W USB-C charging support ensures enduring performance. On the software front, HarmonyOS 3.1 takes the helm.
The MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte edition will be available in Space Gray, retailing for €500/£400 starting September 19.
Huawei Freebuds Pro 3
A successor to the Freebuds Pro 2, the FreeBuds Pro 3 takes the wireless earbud experience to new heights. Boasting a dual driver system, they promise clearer treble and deep, resonant bass. Huawei's flagship earbuds are equipped with a Triple Adaptive EQ for pristine sound quality and support LDAC and L2HC 2.0 Hi-Res audio codecs.
The earbuds also feature an updated Intelligent Dynamic ANC 3.0 system, claiming even more effective noise cancellation. The new Pure Voice 2.0 microphone system ensures crystal-clear voice capture, even in challenging conditions. With a combined battery life of 31 hours and support for dual device pairing, these earbuds are designed to keep you connected.
Freebuds Pro 3 are competitively priced at €200/£180 and will be available across European markets from October 11.
Huawei Eyewear 2
For those seeking a blend of style and functionality, Huawei introduces the Eyewear 2 smart glasses. These sleek glasses allow wearers to enjoy music through built-in speakers for up to 11 hours. Additionally, they offer the convenience of interchangeable Zeiss prescription lenses and feature a featherweight titanium frame weighing a mere 4.7 grams. Touch controls on the sides enhance the user experience.
The Eyewear 2 smart glasses are set to retail at €300 and will be accessible from October 18.
