Apple unveiled its latest product lineup, showcasing the iPhone 15 series and the Series 9 Apple Watch during its annual September event held in Cupertino, California, this week.
The new iPhone 15 range comprises four models, with the base iPhone 15 starting at $799 and the larger 15 Plus at $899. For those seeking premium features, the iPhone 15 Pro starts at $999, while the larger iPhone Pro Max starts at $1,199. Preorders for all four iPhone models will commence on September 15, with availability in stores starting on September 22.
Simultaneously, the Series 9 Apple Watch will also hit the shelves on September 22, priced at $399.
The event, named "Wonderlust," took place at Apple's Steve Jobs Theater and has become an annual tradition in the tech world since the debut of the original iPhone in 2007.

Here's a closer look at what Apple announced at its 2023 event:

iPhone 15:

The standard iPhone 15 will start at $799, while the 15 Plus will start at $899. These models will feature a 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch display, respectively. Both models will introduce "Dynamic Island," a redesigned notch at the screen's top that occupies less visual space. This feature, first introduced in the iPhone 14 Pro models, aids in tracking ongoing activities such as navigation or music playback. The base iPhone 15 models will incorporate the A16 chip used in the iPhone 14 Pro models.

iPhone 15 Release Date:

Preorders for the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will commence on September 15, with availability online and in stores starting on September 22.

iPhone 15 Camera:

The standard iPhone 15 models will come with an enhanced camera system, offering improved optical zoom. They will switch from a 12-megapixel main camera sensor to a 48-megapixel version, offering similar resolution to the iPhone 14 Pro's camera.

iPhone 15 Colors:

The iPhone 15 will be available in five colors: black, blue, pink, white, and yellow.

iPhone 15 Pro:

The iPhone 15 Pro lineup starts at $999, with the Pro Max variant starting at $1,199. These models will feature titanium sides instead of stainless steel, offering improved durability. Additionally, the iPhone 15 Pro models will incorporate the faster A17 chip, promising an enhanced mobile gaming experience.

iPhone 15 Pro Camera:

The iPhone 15 Pro models will feature three cameras, similar to their predecessors, and a 48-megapixel main camera sensor. The Pro Max variant will include new features, including 5X optical zoom.

iPhone 15 Pro Colors:

The iPhone 15 Pro models will be available in black, dark blue, dark gray, and light gray.

Apple Watch Series 9:

The Series 9 Apple Watch boasts a new processing chip called the S9 SiP, which Apple claims will offer improved performance compared to the previous model introduced in 2020. While it maintains a similar design, it will introduce new colors, including pink, starlight, and silver. The Series 9 will also feature a unique “double-tap” feature, allowing users to answer calls or control various app functions by tapping their index finger and thumb together. It will be priced at $399 and available starting September 22.

Apple Watch Ultra 2:

Similar to the Series 9, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 will incorporate the “double-tap” feature and the S9 SiP processor. This version will include on-device Siri for faster and more accurate responses, thanks to the S9 SiP. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 will be priced at $799.

Apple USB-C Charger:

Apple confirmed that its new iPhone 15 lineup, as well as the AirPod charging case, will shift from the Lightning charging system to a USB-C port. This change aligns with European Union regulations aimed at standardizing charging ports for electronic devices sold in the region.

Apple continues to captivate audiences worldwide, with over 1.2 billion iPhones sold. The company generated over $394 billion in net sales the previous year, and since its groundbreaking introduction of the first iPhone in January 2007, its share price has surged by more than 5,000%.

Apple remains an integral part of people's lives across the globe, as noted by Dan Ives, an analyst at Wedbush Securities.
