Capcom's highly-anticipated Resident Evil 4 remake is set to receive an exciting expansion, titled "Separate Ways," which was officially announced during Sony's recent State of Play livestream. Scheduled for release on September 21, this expansion will introduce players to the enigmatic spy and secret agent, Ada Wong. Her mission will unfold in parallel with Leon S. Kennedy's iconic adventure in Resident Evil 4.
This revelation might not come as a shock to dedicated survival horror fans who completed Capcom's remake earlier this year. Clues from Leon and even a datamine hinted at the expansion's imminent arrival.
In the original Separate Ways storyline, Ada played a pivotal role, which included actions like ringing the church bell to halt the village's attack on Leon. She also prevented Leon's demise at the hands of Jack Krauser and secured the rocket launcher that proved crucial in the game's climactic battle. Additionally, the original Resident Evil 4 featured a separate playable chapter called "Assignment: Ada," during which Ada obtained plaga samples for the enigmatic Albert Wesker.
Furthermore, Ada Wong will join the roster in Resident Evil 4's Mercenaries mode, alongside the new addition of Albert Wesker. Gamers can look forward to enjoying this content through a free update on September 21.
The Resident Evil 4 remake is already available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X. Praised as one of the standout games of the year, it continues to uphold Capcom's reputation for delivering exceptional remakes within the Resident Evil franchise.
