Two new Yeti microphones have emerged on the scene, but they're not the brainchild of Blue Microphones. Introducing the Yeti Orb and Yeti GX, both of which belong to the Logitech G product family, signaling a shift away from Blue Microphones' dominance.

Back in 2018, Logitech acquired Blue Microphones in a significant deal worth $117 million. Since then, Blue Microphones operated relatively independently, occasionally releasing special edition Yeti microphones or compact mics for streamers. However, a seismic change occurred over the summer when Logitech restructured its approach. The Blue website was taken down, and the Blue sub-brand vanished from Logitech's site, leaving "Blue" to be associated solely with Logitech's audio technologies.

The first hardware products to undergo this rebranding are new iterations of Blue's flagship product: the Yeti.

First up is the Logitech G Yeti GX, marketed as a "premium" gaming microphone, complete with eye-catching RGB lighting. This microphone takes on a pod-like shape and features a built-in desk stand, akin to Blue's Yeti Nano but with Logitech G's signature flair. Logitech claims it employs a supercardioid pickup pattern to zero in on your vocals while minimizing background noise. Additionally, it incorporates "Smart Audio Lock," a feature designed to adjust gain to prioritize your voice while reducing unwanted ambient sounds. However, users are advised to be cautious about desk vibrations when using the included stand, though an adapter for a boom arm is provided as an alternative mounting option.

The most intriguing aspect of this microphone, especially for hardware enthusiasts, is the inclusion of a gain control scroll wheel, borrowed from one of Logitech's gaming mice. This innovative feature adds a touch of convenience and is sure to pique the interest of tech-savvy users. The Yeti GX carries a price tag of $150 in the US or £149 in the UK.

On the more budget-friendly side, there's the Logitech G Yeti Orb. It bears a striking resemblance to an enlarged version of the Blue Snowball microphone, a beloved classic among users. While the specifications align closely with the Snowball, the Yeti Orb now boasts RGB lighting, offering a modern twist on a familiar design. Priced at $60 or £60, it isn't as affordable as the Snowball but remains a compelling option, especially considering the Snowball's long-standing popularity. Users can only hope that the Yeti Orb's price will follow suit and drop in the future.

To round out this release, Logitech offers a gaming key light. This RGB-capable illumination source deviates from the conventional flat panel design seen in products from Elgato and Razer. Priced at $150 or £150, it firmly positions itself in the realm of professional streamer equipment. According to Logitech, it boasts impressive endurance, able to provide illumination throughout an entire day of use.

In summary, Logitech's latest additions to the Yeti lineup, the Yeti GX, Yeti Orb, and the gaming key light, offer a range of options to cater to gamers and content creators. With these products, Logitech aims to deliver enhanced performance and aesthetics while reaffirming its commitment to the audio technology domain.
