Iconic Xbox 360 Title Set for a Fresh Re-release

A beloved classic game associated with the Xbox 360 is set to make a triumphant return on multiple platforms. During the era of the Xbox 360, Microsoft introduced Xbox Live Arcade, a platform that launched numerous indie game titles. This initiative played a pivotal role in establishing the indie gaming market, featuring gems like Braid, Castle Crashers, Splosion Man, Bastion, and many more. Now, one of the original Xbox Live Arcade classics is making a comeback, and it's bringing a new sequel along for the ride.

Scheduled for release on November 1, Alien Hominid HD is gearing up for a return on Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The original Alien Hominid, developed by The Behemoth, made its debut back in 2004 for PlayStation, Xbox, and GameCube. However, it wasn't until 2007 that the high-definition version of the game landed on Xbox 360, breathing new life into this quirky title and making it a fan favorite. Over the years, The Behemoth expanded its game portfolio, offering titles such as Battleblock Theater, Pit People, and the iconic Castle Crashers. In 2015, The Behemoth gave the remaster treatment to Castle Crashers, and now, Alien Hominid HD is getting the same treatment.

Described as having "hand-drawn graphics, exhilarating fast-paced gameplay, and the humor that started it all," Alien Hominid HD takes players on a nostalgic journey back in time, enhancing the visuals while preserving the hardcore gaming experience. Players navigate their surroundings by jumping, dodging attacks, grabbing agents, and even digging underground. They can employ a trusty blaster to eliminate obstacles and throw grenades for epic explosions. For those who prefer close combat, there's the option to wield a knife or, for a more unique approach, chomp on enemies' heads.

In addition to re-releasing Alien Hominid HD on current-generation platforms, The Behemoth is introducing a brand-new addition to the series. Also launching on November 1, Alien Hominid Invasion is a co-op-centered installment in the franchise that has been in development for several years. This side-scrolling shoot 'em up game maintains the chaotic essence of the original Alien Hominid while introducing a slew of new weapons, abilities, and cosmetics.

The description for Alien Hominid Invasion states, "Old friends and bitter enemies await as you invade Earth alongside a Mothership full of alien friends!" Players are invited to unleash mayhem alongside up to three fellow hominids, armed with a vast arsenal of weapons, mutations, and acrobatic moves.

For enthusiasts eager to dive into both of these Alien Hominid games, The Behemoth is offering a bundle that includes both titles. The Alien Hominid: The Extra Terrestrial Bundle will be available for $24.99 on Xbox, Switch, and PC. If you prefer to purchase them individually, Alien Hominid HD will be priced at $11.99 on the new platforms, while Alien Hominid Invasion will retail for $19.99.
