Located just over 50 miles south of Berkeley, California, Cupertino, the famed home of tech giant Apple Inc.
Notably, the commute didn't deter Apple's CEO, Tim Cook, a proud native of Mobile, Alabama, and an alumnus of Auburn University. He showed his allegiance by sporting an Auburn polo during last Saturday's game against Cal.
Tim Cook, who assumed the helm of Apple in 2011 following Steve Jobs' resignation, earned his degree in industrial engineering from Auburn University back in 1982. Subsequently, he pursued further education, obtaining his master's in business administration from Duke University in 1988.
In a poignant return to his alma mater in 2010, Cook delivered the commencement address and shared a revealing anecdote about his career trajectory. He disclosed that a pivotal conversation with Steve Jobs in 1998 led him to depart from his role as vice president at Compaq Computer Company.
He reflected during his commencement speech, "On that day in early 1998, I listened to my intuition, not the left side of my brain or, for that matter, even the people who knew me best. No more than five minutes into my initial interview with Steve, I wanted to throw caution and logic to the wind and join Apple."
Cook's unwavering loyalty to Auburn is prominently showcased in his biography on the social platform
