Valve has unveiled the patch notes for Dota 2's latest update, version 7.34c, which focuses heavily on bringing balance to the game. This update introduces much-needed nerfs to some of the game's most dominant heroes, such as Nature's Prophet and Gyrocopter, aiming to create a more level playing field for players across various skill levels.

Among the standout nerfs are those inflicted on Nature’s Prophet. Previous patches had boosted his strength, but this time around, these changes have been rolled back. Players will no longer experience healing when eating a tree from Nature’s Prophet’s Sprout with a Tango. This alteration significantly impacts his utility as a support hero since he could previously trap enemies in a Sprout from level one, forcing them to either consume a Tango or wield a Quelling Blade. Moreover, Nature’s Prophet receives a substantial base agility nerf, dropping from 20 to 14, making him less formidable in combat.

Gyrocopter, another hero who has risen to prominence in recent weeks, also takes a hit in this update. Gyrocopter's agility gain is reduced from 3.3 to 3.1, impacting his damage output. His Homing Missile stun duration is reduced, and the cooldown for Flack Cannon sees a significant increase. Additionally, his popular talents have been toned down.

The nerfs don't stop there, as other popular heroes like Beastmaster, Dark Seer, and Treant Protector have also been subjected to balancing adjustments. Vengeful Spirit receives some nerfs as well, though they may not appear as significant compared to the changes made to other top-tier heroes.

On the flip side, several heroes have been on the receiving end of buffs to bolster their viability. Pugna sees an increase in intelligence and improvements to his healing abilities. Ogre Magi gains added durability and more convenient spellcasting. Nyx Assassin, meanwhile, enjoys a series of significant buffs across various aspects of his gameplay.

At first glance, this patch appears to offer a solid shake-up to Dota 2's meta without completely overhauling the game. However, it's worth noting that as players adapt to these changes, some buffed heroes might become overly dominant, potentially prompting further adjustments before The International 12, set to take place later this year.
