| Mankey Stats IV Perfect and brilliant preview of Mankey in Pokémon Go |
This week's featured event is none other than Spotlight Hour, focusing on the beloved Pig Monkey Pokémon family. This iconic and fiery-tempered creature holds a special place in the hearts of many trainers, especially with the recent addition of a third evolution, Annihilape, in 2022. While Annihilape has yet to make its debut in Pokémon Go, this event offers a prime Opportunity to capture a flawless Mankey in the game.
It's intriguing to see Mankey and its evolution, Primeape, in the spotlight during this event, considering that Paldean Pokémon are gradually making their presence felt in the Pokémon Go world. This development might hint at a future Mankey Community Day, potentially marking the arrival of Annihilap.
Strangely enough, this week's Spotlight Hour comes with a recurring double catch candy bonus, a feature that might not be immediately beneficial for Mankey candy but should not be overlooked, as it applies to all Pokémon, including those obtained from Research rewards and Raid battles.
Key Highlights:
Mankey's 100% Perfect IV Stats:
This week's Spotlight Hour is an excellent opportunity to encounter a Mankey with perfect Individual Values (IVs). In Pokémon Go, "perfect" IVs refer to a Pokémon's stats, with 15/15/15 being the highest possible values. This is ideal for trainers looking to build a top-tier team for their Pokédex, raids, or the Master League. While you can't determine a Pokémon's IVs without catching it, players above Level 30 can identify a perfect Mankey based on its Combat Points (CP). Here are the CP thresholds for a perfect Mankey:
Level 30 (wild CP maximum) – 998 CP
Level 35 (weather-boosted wild CP maximum) – 1081 CP
Note that these values apply to trainers above Level 30, and the thresholds differ for lower-level players.
Primeape's Viability in PVP:
Primeape may not be a top-tier choice, but it's worth noting that it's a middle evolution, hinting at the potential power of Annihilate down the road. Primeape can be used effectively in the Go Battle League due to its rapid attack speed. With moves like Counter, Night Slash, and Close Combat, it offers a dynamic and spammy move set. However, Primeape lacks in defense and should be considered a glass cannon. In the Great League, it can secure victories against Pokémon like Registeel, Alolan Sandslash, Walrein, Lanturn, and Galarian Stunfisk. In the Ultra League, a Level 50 Primeape is required to shine, excelling against Pokémon such as Registeel, Obstagoon, Swampert, Walrein, and Cobalion. Master League, though, is not the place for Primerape as it is unlikely to succeed.
The Season of Adventures Abound:
Currently, the Season of Adventures Abound is in full swing, featuring the release of Generation 9 and the A Paldean Adventure special research quest. Trainers can also embark on the Timed Investigation: Master Ball quest and participate in the Go Battle League. Don't forget to engage in Shadow Raids, complete Routes, and use Daily Adventure Incense for a chance to encounter rare Pokémon like Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres.
Shiny Mankey in Pokémon Go:
Yes, there is a shiny version of Mankey in Pokémon Go. Shiny Mankey made its debut in March 2019 as part of the Battle Showdown 2019 event. However, it's worth noting that the shiny variant of Mankey doesn't deviate much from its regular color scheme, falling in line with the not-so-flashy Gen 1 shiny design trend.
Additional Tips for Spotlight Hour:
Besides the quest for a shiny Mankey, there are other compelling reasons to participate in this week's Spotlight Hour:
The double catch candy bonus is the primary attraction, allowing you to accumulate candy twice as fast, applicable to all Pokémon. Utilizing a Pinap or Silver Berry alongside a Mega-Evolved Pokémon of the same type can yield up to 13 candy per Mankey caught, as opposed to the usual three.
This bonus extends to research rewards as well. Remember that you don't have to catch these Pokémon immediately; You can "bank" up to 200 Pokémon and catch them later when you want to maximize bonuses from items like Star Pieces or Lucky Eggs.
For newer trainers, this Spotlight Hour presents an excellent opportunity to amass enough Mankey Candy to fully evolve Mankey and add its evolutions to your Pokédex.
Catching Mankey during this event will contribute to your respective catch bonus medal since Mankey is a Fighting-type Pokémon.
Spotlight Hour events run for one hour, from 6 pm to 7 pm local time. Next week's event will feature Girafarig and offer a double Catch XP bonus.
Best of luck in your pursuit of a perfect Mankey!
